About
If you are not a paid staff member, but you have been appointed by the University in one of the following categories, you are entitled to an affiliates card:
- Emeritus Professor
- Academic titles (senior executive positions)
- Adjunct titles
- Clinical academic titles
- Conjoint academic titles
- Honorary titles
- Visiting scholars (library card only)
- Research titles
- Administrative/support staff
Borrowing
- Borrow up to 10 items from our general collection.
- Put a hold on up to 2 items at a time.
- Short loan collection items are restricted to University students and staff.
Online resources
You can access most of our online resources through public access computers located in some libraries. Due to licensing restrictions, some items are only available for current University of Sydney students and staff. There is limited access to public computers, so availability cannot be guaranteed.
How to apply
The application form is only required for non-HR departmental appointments. If your affiliation is through the HR system, please visit the intranet for information on how to get your card.
- Complete the Affiliates & Academic Title Holders Card application form.
- Email university.cards@sydney.edu.au or visit the Student Centre with:
- your completed application form
- photo identification, such as your driver’s licence, NSW Photo Card or passport
- your online payment receipt
- a passport-size photo (if applying by email)
- Allow 2–3 business days processing time.
Membership is granted for up to 12 months with the option to renew if you have continued affiliation with the University. If your card expires, please contact the Student Centre for a renewal or replacement. You may also need to provide documents that confirm your continued affiliation with the University.
