New AI-powered research and learning tools now available through the Library

Expanded Access to Law AI Tools for the University Community

From 1 August, the University of Sydney will have access to the AI-powered legal research tools LexisNexis Protégé and Westlaw Precision Australia, made available through the Library's successful negotiations with vendors as part of our existing scholarly content subscriptions.

In addition, Law School staff and students will have access to Harvey AI. Library staff are also now enabled to use the platform to support copyright and responsible use of AI. 

These new AI capabilities have been made available by leveraging the Library's existing scholarly content subscriptions, enabling the University community to benefit from advanced AI functionality without the need for separate product subscriptions. In collaboration with faculties and ICT, the Library ensures that AI tools are assessed through the University's Responsible AI process before activation, confirming they meet institutional requirements for safe and appropriate use.

StudyFinder AI feature now available for health students

The Library has enabled access to StudyFinder AI within ClinicalKey Student

ClinicalKey Student is an interactive medical learning platform with books, videos, images and quick access summaries.

StudyFinder AI is a new feature that enables students to quickly access customised learning materials drawn only from ClinicalKey Student content. It also facilitates deeper understanding by linking to other ClinicalKey sources for further exploration. The Library has worked with faculty partners and ICT to ensure this AI feature has been assessed for safe and appropriate use before being made available.

Tailored to help medicine and health students study, StudyFinder AI takes into account their learning goals, preference for a pre-clinical or clinical content level, and depth of knowledge on a topic.
