Cosme Colony Collection

The Cosme Colony Collection comprises papers relating to the New Australia Colony and Cosme Colony, socialist utopian colonies founded in Paraguay in 1893 and 1894 by William Lane and other Australian colonists.

Poet Mary Gilmore spent time at the New Australian Colony. Cosme Evening Notes was a hand-written bulletin which was read aloud each evening. John Lane's handwriting. Includes the poem "Wedded" by M.J.G. (Mary Gilmore).
