Library platforms

Access online resources using the Library website’s search box or search the Library catalogue.

To search the Library catalogue, remember to sign in before searching to:              

• access results that are only available to University of Sydney staff and students
• request items not available from our Library
• view your library account to manage loans and requests
• save and set up alerts for your searches

Publisher sites

When accessing online resources directly from publisher sites, look for an OpenAthens or institutional login option.

Search for The University of Sydney Library when asked to “Find your organisation/institution”, then follow the prompts to sign in with your university credentials.

Here are some examples:

If the University of Sydney’s name appears twice when searching for your institution, choose the option “The University of Sydney Library”.

If the publisher site asks you to select your federation when logging in, select “OpenAthens Federation”.

Each publisher site can look a little different and not all platforms will support OpenAthens authentication.
