2.1 Types of references: books

Books can also be known as monographs.

They usually have one or more authors, a title, a place of publication, a publisher and a publication date. Sometimes you will need a particular edition of a book.

The quickest way to find a book in the library is to:

Enter the title in quotation marks into CrossSearch

Select Catalogue from the library homepage, choose title and type the title in the title search box.

Try finding this book in the catalogue: “Manly Meals and mom’s home cooking: cookbooks and gender in modern America” by Jessamyn Neuhaus. Baltimore: John Hopkins University Press, 2003.
