You can apply for a temporary Library card if you are:
- a postgraduate student under examination (does not require authorising signature)
- a postgraduate student whose candidature is suspended
- a student intending to do honours or study for a postgraduate degree
- a winter or summer school student with no UniKey (you can use your Community ID to authenticate).
Eligibility is verified by the Student Centre.
You will be able to access Library spaces while the information desk is staffed. Please see our opening hours for more information.
Borrowing
- Borrow up to 10 items from our general collection.
- Put a hold on up to 2 items at a time.
- Short loan collection items are restricted to University students and staff.
Online resources
You can access most of our online resources through public access computers located in some libraries. Due to licensing restrictions, some items are only available for current University of Sydney students and staff.
There is limited access to public computers, so availability cannot be guaranteed.
How to apply
- Complete the application form.
- Email university.cards@sydney.edu.au or visit the Student Centre with:
- your completed application form
- photo identification, such as your driver’s licence, NSW Photo Card or passport
- a passport-size photo (if applying by email)
- Allow 2–3 business days processing time.
